A week had gone by and Zac had just gotten to the airport with his brothers.
They had flown into Los Angeles from Oklahoma to work with another
songwriter on some stuff, and their wives had stayed back with the kids.
They had made some plans to get together and do some
girl related stuff while the boys were gone.
They walked off the plane, and Zac had to step off to the side to better get
a grip of his suitcase, as it nearly fell from his hand. Taylor and Isaac didn't
realize he wasn't directly behind them and kept on walking. When he looked up
and didn't see them, he looked around nervously as he saw some girls staring at
him. He knew they recognized him and were going to start swarming around him any
minute for an autograph. He couldn't see them through the crowd of people coming
off the same flight as them. Calling out for his brothers, neither one of them
heard him over the loud speakers and they kept on walking. After a moment, he
finally just started to follow the signs that led to the baggage area, hoping he
would find them there by the front doors.
Someone literally bumped into him soon after he began following the signs,
and he fell over. " I am so sorry. My son decided to take off from me,
and..." She helped him to his feet, and stopped mid sentence when she recognized
who he was.
He stared back at her in surprise. Looking right at him was Miranda, and not
far behind her was Kaitlyn. She had just taken a little boy into her arms, and
when she looked his way, he felt like he could hardly breathe. Still after five
years had passed was she as beautiful as ever. It was more than he could handle
to see her there.
Miranda looked from him to her sister, who stood there as if frozen. Kaitlyn
couldn't even speak, she was so shocked. And it seemed as if Zac wasn't going to
speak up either. " Alright. I know you two are surprised to see each other, but
this is insane. The silence is too much." She finally spoke up herself.
Zac looked from Kaitlyn to her, and finally found his voice. " What... what
are you two doing here?" He asked.
" Being on the road with you and your brothers five years ago made me realize
how much I still wanted to be a singer. I had wanted it is a kid and had been
heading down that road when I got distracted." She explained. " Anyway, I've
been writing music again and singing in clubs the
last few years, and I
finally got noticed. I got a contract and am to start recording as soon as
tomorrow."
He smiled at her, and was about to say something when he felt a hand on his
shoulder. Turning around, he saw Taylor and Isaac behind him. " Let's go, Zac.
We're running late as it is." Isaac told him.
" Yeah. Sorry. I just... ran into old friends here." He pointed in the
direction of Miranda and Kaitlyn.
Taylor looked in their direction and smiled. " Hey, what brings you here?" He
asked.
" Miranda was just telling me she got a record deal." Zac said, with a smile
on his face. He gave Miranda a hug. " Congratulations by the way."
" Thank you." She smiled back. " It feels good to finally be following my
dreams."
Isaac hugged and congratulated her as well. " Listen, we definately need to
catch up. But right now we are running behind as it is." He wrote down his
number and gave it to her. " Give me a call later."
Miranda nodded, and getting a hug from Taylor as well, she gave him a smile.
" We'll see you guy's around."
Zac grabbed his suitcase and followed his brother's out of the airport, still
in shock from seeing Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn followed her sister out of the airport, holding Brett in her arms.
She didn't want him to get away from them again, so now poor Miranda had her
hand full of suitcases. The only thing she had was her carry on bag and her
purse. She was still in shock from running into Zac. He had looked so good
wearing a turquoise slim fit jersey and a pair of blue loose fitting jeans. She
daydreamed about feeling those lips on her's again, and him telling her that he
wanted her more than anything.
Noticing her sister wasn't listening to a single word she was saying, Miranda
snapped her fingers in front of her face. " Kaitlyn!"
Snapping back to reality, she looked at Miranda. " Sorry. I... I was just
thinking about Troy." She lied.
" Your a very bad liar. I know you were daydreaming about Zac. And you need
to stop. He is married to Kate, and you have Troy. You may not be married to
him, but you would be a fool to drop him. He is so great to you, sis."
Kaitlyn nodded. " Your right. He is very great to me." She sighed. " But did
you see how good Zac looked just now?"
" He looks great. They all do. But you don't see me falling all over them.
Now get your act together." Miranda snapped. " You have a boyfriend who loves
you so much. Don't lose your chance with him because of your crush on Zac."
Kaitlyn frowned, but she knew her sister was right. With another nod, she
followed her sister to the car rental area of the hospital. Renting a Nissan
Versa to get around for the next few days, they headed to their hotel. They
would find a cheap car later to actually buy when they had the time and the
money.
When they got to their hotel, Kaitlyn got Brett ready for bed while Miranda
went next door to the gas station for snacks and stuff. She got him bathed and
into some pajamas. Miranda came back ten minutes later and they fed him a
little fruit and cereal before putting him into bed.
Not ready to go to bed herself, Kaitlyn put on her swimsuit and went in
search of the indoor pool. She literally bumped into non other than Taylor,
who was on his way to the pool himself for a swim. " Hey, long time no
see." He joked. " How are you, Kaitlyn?"
" I've been better, Taylor. I'm just... I'm about to go insane." She
admitted. " I never expected to see you guys again. Now here we are,
running into each other twice in a day, and I... all I can think
about..."
" You need to let it go, Kaitlyn. He is married." Taylor interrupted her. "
I'm sorry, but you can't have my brother."
She nodded. " I do know that, Taylor. And I... I do have someone in my life
right now. I met this great guy a few years ago. He treats me well. But I
can't help feel what I am feeling right now either."
He opened up the door to the pool, and held it open for her to go in first. "
If it helps you any, I am struggling right now too. Natalie handed me
divorce papers the other day and is trying to get me to sign them. She says
she met someone else."
She looked at him sadly. " I'm sorry, Tay. That really sucks."
" Yeah. She won't tell me who it is, so I have this feeling it is someone I
know. Maybe a best friend of mine she is trying to protect. But I'm not
sure." He threw his towel onto an empty chair and dived into the deep end
of the pool.

The following morning, Miranda woke up and saw that Kaitlyn had never come
back to the room. Her bed remained untouched. She threw on some clothes and
ran out of the room in a panic, with Brett in her arms. She went to the
front desk to ask if they had seen her sister and they shook their heads no.
From what they had seen, she had never left the hotel. She
checked out the pool area and Kaitlyn wasn't there either. Isaac was in there himself, taking a
morning swim. He saw the panicked look on her face, and asked her what was
wrong.
Explaining to him that Kaitlyn had gone for a swim the previous night and had
never come back to the room, he wondered outloud if she had gone in search
of Zac and maybe she was with him, although she shouldn't be. Gathering up
his stuff, he led the way to Zac's room and they knocked on the door.
Zac came to the door a moment later in his boxer shorts, his hair all messed
up. " What's up?" He asked.
" Is Kaitlyn with you, Zac? Be completely honest with us. Miranda said she
never came back to their room last night and..."
" No. I didn't know that we were even in the same hotel as them." Zac
truthfully told them. " This can't be good if she has disapeared. I'll get
dressed and we can go wake Taylor. We'll search for her together." He
closed his bedroom door and threw on some clothes, opening
the door back up a minute later.
In the minute they had alone, Miranda came up with a better idea. She handed
Brett over to Zac, who looked at them curiously. " I don't know if it's a
good idea for you two to really see each other. She was really upset
yesterday when she saw you, and... she was really messed
up over it. Just watch my son. I'll be back for him."
Isaac had already agreed it was a better decision that Zac not go on the
search for Kaitlyn. He looked at his brother. " We will find her and let
you know what happens. Just get him fed."
Zac nodded and closed the door behind them. He ordered himself room service,
and a little something for Brett.
Knocking on Taylor's bedroom door, there was no answer. Isaac however had a
room that adjoined to his room, so they went in that way instead when
knocking didn't seem to wake him up. What they saw when they entered
Taylor's room was something they had not expected. Taylor was asleep with a
woman in his arms. But it wasn't just anybody. It was Kaitlyn.
They had flown into Los Angeles from Oklahoma to work with another
songwriter on some stuff, and their wives had stayed back with the kids.
