A half hour had passed since the elevator had broken down, and it was still
being worked on. Kaitlyn was starting to panic now. She paced back and forth as
her anxiety level began to rise. Tears came to her eyes as she wondered how long
they would be stuck there for.
Zac pulled her into his arms, and kissed her cheek. " It's going to be okay,
Kaitlyn. We will get out of here. You know they are working on it now."
" I just can't stand to be stuck in a small space for so long. I like to keep
moving." She told him, enjoying the feel of his arms around her. Relaxing just a
little in his arms, she kissed him.
" We will be out of here before you know it." Kissing her back, he pulled out
of the hug.
" While we wait though, we might as well talk about what is
happening between us."
She nodded, wiping away her own tears. " We... we do need to talk about that.
Because I don't really understand how you feel about me. I just know how I feel
when I am with you."
Sitting down in a corner of the elevator, he looked up at her. " How is
that?"
" I feel so safe and comfortable with you, like I can tell you anything. I
feel a connection with you that I have never shared with anyone else." She sat
next to him. " I know I have only known you a few days, but I feel like I have
known you longer than that."
He locked eyes with her. " Kaitlyn, I am so insanely attracted to you. You
are so beautiful. You have some of the same qualities that I always looked for
in a woman. You are amazing." He told her, taking her hand in his. " But I have
a pregnant wife to think about too." Stroking her hair from her face, he sighed.
" I don't know if I can do this whole sneaking around behind her back thing. I
just don't."
" I understand, Zac. I do." She could feel more tears come to her eyes. It
hurt to hear those words come out of his mouth, after he had spent the last
couple of days doing just that. " I want for more than anything to be with you,
but she was your first love. I know that." She kissed him on the cheek. " Of
course you should be with your wife. "
" You'll find someone better, Kaitlyn. I know you will. And he will love you
in more ways than I can." He wrapped his arms around her for one last hug, and
kissed her.
The elevator door opened just then, and a shocked Taylor walked in. " Zac,
what... did you just... what's going on?" He asked.

Zac was in shock when Taylor walked in on him and Kaitlyn basically saying
goodbye to each other. He had hoped he wouldn't have to explain himself to
anybody, that maybe no one had noticed what was going on between him and
Kaitlyn. Now he knew he had no choice. Pulling his brother aside once off the
elevator, he told him that for a short couple of days that he had been sneaking
around behind Kate's back and making out with Kaitlyn a bit, that he felt some
sort of connection with her. Taylor shook his head in disbelief, trying to
understand what his brother was going through. But he couldn't.
Taylor pulled him into his and Natalie's room, and they saw Kate in there.
Her eyes were red from crying and the tears poured down her face. Zac tried to
pull her into his arms, but she pulled away from him. " Don't pretend like you
care anything about me anymore, Zac."
Taylor looked at her sadly. " Do you see what you've done to your wife, Zac?
She has been there for you through everything, and you do this to her. How could
you?"
Zac looked at his wife, and all he wanted was to make it up to her. He wanted
to take her into his arms, but she wasn't about to let him. Every time he got
close to her, she pulled away. " I... I'm sorry, Kate. I never meant to hurt you
like this. I really didn't. I just... I don't know. I felt... some sort of
connection towards, Kaitlyn. But I never stopped loving you. You have to know
that."
" How am I supposed to know how you feel about me anymore, Zac? You've been
sneaking around with her, kissing her and holding her in your arms. You've been
there for her more than you have for me ever since you met her!" Kate screamed
at him. " Not to mention, I thought that I could trust her. But now I really
don't. Her time with us has come to an end, Zac. If you truly love me, you will
send her off back home now."
That was the last thing he wanted to do, but he felt he had no choice if he
was to prove to her that he still loved her. Feeling defeated, he nodded. " I...
I will buy her and Miranda plane tickets back home. Just... please give me a
chance to..."
" You don't get to talk yourself out of this so easily, Zac. You have to do a
lot more than that to show me you really still care for me. You will drop all
contact with her. No phone numbers or anything. You will lose it." Kate told
him, and deleted the number herself from her phone.
Zac hesitantly took out his cell phone, and after a moment finally deleted
the number himself. He showed her that it was gone, and then made the call right
there to get the plane tickets for Kaitlyn and Miranda. Taylor left the room to
go find them, so he could tell them to pack up their things.

Now at the airport with a little extra money given to them by Hanson's mom to
make sure they had enough to get home, Kaitlyn and Miranda had said their
goodbye's to the family. They stood at their gate sadly, unable to believe their
time with them had already come to an end.
Miranda looked over at her sister, who had tears in her eyes. Putting an arm
around her, she kissed her cheek. " I'm sorry, sis. I know you fall pretty hard
when you do fall for someone."
Kaitlyn nodded. " Now I'm never going to hear from him ever again. I mean,
I... I thought we could at least remain friends, but... did you hear Kate? She
doesn't even want there to be
any sort of contact."
Kate had really let her have it before the drive to the airport. She had made
sure Kaitlyn knew how she felt about her now. She told her she hated her, and
that she didn't trust her to be around her husband. Telling her that they both
deleted her number, she told her to lose Zac's number, although it would more
than likely be changed anyway. She didn't want her to look him up ever, and if
she ever saw him again at another concert, she was not even allowed backstage
ever again. Not even Miranda would be allowed near him.
" I bet somehow you will see him again one day, Kaitlyn. Just give it time."
Miranda gave her a little smile. " Let's go get something to eat. I am starving,
and we have plenty of time before our plane arrives."
" I'm really not hungry, Miranda." Kaitlyn took out her book, and was going
to start reading. But Miranda took it away from her.
" Too bad. You need to keep your strength up. And I don't want us to
separate. Now come on." Miranda took her hand in her's, and started to drag her
towards one of the many restaurants in the airport. " We can talk about what we
are doing to do now that we are on our own."
" I'm going back to teaching. That will be the only thing to keep me from
going insane right now." Kaitlyn told her. They entered the restaurant and were
seated in a booth. Ordering an iced tea, she glanced at her menu.
" I don't know what I will do. I would go to college, if only I had the
money. But I don't know what kind of classes I would take anyway." Miranda
ordered a lemonade to drink and looked at her menu.
" Well, you should have focused more on that than partying to begin with."
Kaitlyn said honestly. " I know we shouldn't even go there and talk about it,
but you know it is true."
Miranda nodded. " I know. But I promise to be a better person from now on.
I'm... I am going to have this baby, and... I will figure something out. I
will."
They placed their order's, and then continued to talk about what their next
plans were. They couldn't afford the house anymore, that they knew. It wasn't
fully paid for, and now with Britney gone they would never be able to pay it off
with her teacher salary. The house would have to be sold, and they would at
least have to get an apartment. They would have to start their lives completely
over again.
