Britney was in the kitchen making up some chocolate chip cookies when Kaitlyn
got home. She heard the door open and close as she was pulling a sheet of
cookies out of the oven. Setting the tray down, she stepped into the living room
and caught her sister trying to sneak up the stairs without telling her about
the concert. " Hey, come on into the kitchen. I have some chocolate chip cookies
just out of the oven." She told her. " I want to hear about the show."
" I'm really just kind of..."
" Kaitlyn, your not getting away that easily. I don't care how tired you say
you are. You are home much later than I expected you to be, and I want to know
why." She interrupted her. " Now come have a cookie or two and explain to me why
that is."
With a sigh, Kaitlyn followed her into the kitchen and sat at the table.
Britney got her a glass of milk and handed her a couple of cookies. Taking a
bite, she looked at her sister. " I actually got more than an autograph of all
three. I met them backstage thanks to Zac's wife Kate, and got to talk with them
for a bit. It was great."
Britney smiled. " So you did finally get to meet them then. I'm happy for
you, sis." She sat down across from her. " Mom would be happy you got to meet
them too. She knew how much you wanted to get that chance."
" I told them about mom. They each gave me a hug and said how sorry they were
that she died. Kate gave me her phone number even, so I can call her anytime I
want to." She told her. " I think I may get a chance to be friends with them
actually, which is awesome."
" Don't get any idea's about moving to Tulsa. You know how much Miranda needs
us, Kaitlyn." Britney reminded her.
" I know. But if I decide to move out there, I very well can. You can't tell
me what to do, or her for that matter. She is eighteen, Britney. Sure she hasn't
always handled herself well, but she can take care of herself."
" Stop thinking about it, Kaitlyn. We are staying here in Michigan." Britney
told her firmly. " We are not selling mom and dad's house to move to
Tulsa."
Quickly finishing her cookies and milk, Kaitlyn barely listened to another
word her sister said. When she finished, she headed upstairs and hung her new
autographed shirt up in the closet, then proceeded to get ready for bed.
Britney went back to baking her cookies, and listened closely to make sure
Miranda didn't try sneaking out of the house, as she so often did.

The next morning, Miranda woke up before everyone else. Thinking she would
try to sneak out that morning to meet up with some friends, she hopped into a
quick shower and dressed in a mesh print camisole and a white pair of denim
shorts, throwing her light brown hair up into a ponytail. But before she could
get out of the front door, Kaitlyn came into the living room and made a dash to
block her way out.
" Where do you think you are going?" Kaitlyn asked, just barely making it to
the front door in time.
Miranda tried to push her way past, but Kaitlyn wasn't about to budge.
" Kaitlyn, I need some fun in my life. Now move out of my way. I want to get out
of the house and meet up with some friends."
" No way. For one, you have to work today in a couple of hours. Britney would
be pissed if you left and skipped work. Two, that's how you got yourself
pregnant. By having too much fun." Kaitlyn reminded her. " Now we are going out
to the kitchen, and making some breakfast together." She grabbed her sister by
the wrist, and dragged her into the kitchen.
Miranda rolled her eyes at her. " You used to be the fun sister. What
happened to you?" She asked.
" I grew up. And it's time you do too. You are eighteen, but you act like a
kid. Life is not all fun and games, Miranda."
Starting on some scrambled eggs, Miranda gave her a look. " You need to get
out more, sis."
" I do. I work and I have fun without getting myself knocked up, unlike you."
Kaitlyn put some bacon in the microwave. Even she knew that was a low blow, but
it was too true.
Miranda stormed out of the kitchen, and out the front door. Britney was just
getting up, and saw her run out the door, but didn't chase after her. She was
more curious as to why she seemed so upset, and went into the kitchen. " What is
going on?"
Kaitlyn sighed, and explained to her about the little fight her and Miranda
got into. Britney began yelling at her once she heard the story, and once again
she ignored her. Things were getting so intense in that house, she could barely
handle it. She ate her breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast in silence when her
sister finally realized she wasn't even listening to her anymore. Then she was
out the door to get to the school and teach her classes.

When she was finished at school for the day, Kaitlyn decided
to stop at Starbucks and pick up a good cup of coffee. She got herself a double
choclaty chip frappucino and a double chocolate brownie to munch on as well.
After a long day of teaching and the fights with her sisters, she needed the
extra pick me up. On her way out the door, she literally ran into Zac Hanson and
nearly dropped both her drink and her brownie. " I am so sorry. I..." She smiled
when she realized who it was that she had run into. " I thought you guys would
be out of town by now. What are you doing here?"
Zac smiled at her. " We have an extra day to hang around and view the sights
of Michigan before heading to the next town. Kate is napping however, and I
decided to take a little walk." He told her. " Would you like to join me?"
Although she was tired and all she wanted to do was go home and relax, she
nodded her head to say yes. " That would be great. I could show you around town
a bit."
" Sounds great. Just let me get my coffee." He ordered himself a caffe mocha
and a blueberry muffin before they headed out.
Getting into her car, she drove around in silence for a bit. Neither said a
word as they sipped on their coffee. She carefully ate her brownie as she drove,
deciding she couldn't wait until she got home. When they finally made a stop at
the Sunrise Side Wine & Hops Trail, Zac spoke up. " What's this place?" He
asked.
" A good place to drive around, and enjoy some wine and beer tastings. I like
to come here once in awhile and think. The alcohol helps too." She giggled.
Zac nodded. " You have a long day at work today?"
" Mostly this morning went to crap with my sisters. Otherwise my classes were
all good today. I am an art teacher in elementary school." She told him.
He gave her a smile. " That is great. Do you work on anything outside of your
classes? Have an art studio or anything?"
" It's not much, but I do have the basement I use sort of as an art studio.
My paintings are all down there, and my sculpturing stuff is down there too."
She smiled back. " My friends seem to think it's all pretty great."
" You should have taken me to your house. I would have loved to seen it."
She blushed a little at the thought of showing him her artwork. " I... I
doubt it's anything, compared to your art work. The stuff you've shown on your
livestreams are awesome."
" I bet you just don't know how good you really are." He sipped on his
coffee. " Let's go taste some wine and beer though. That sounds good too."
She took one last sip of her coffee, and set it in the cup holder. Getting
out of the car, she led him through one of the vineyards and they made a stop to
taste some good wine.
